About Me

Associate Professor Dr Lilis Surienty has been a faculty member of School of Management, Universiti Sains Malaysia since 2005 and was the Chairperson for Organisational Behaviour and International Business for three years.


She has taught undergraduate courses (Industrial Relations, Managerial Psychology, Management from an Islamic Perspectives, Strategic Management, Business Communication and International Human Resource Management) and conduct adult training at postgraduate level, university as well as to private organisations in the subject of SPSS, teaching and learning specialising in Interactive Lecture, the Intermediate Level of E-learning and Commuting Accidents Management.


She is a Master Trainer for Interactive Lecture for the Malaysian Higher Education Ministry and has been an E-learning trainer for USM academic staff since 2014. She is currently a supervisor to four doctoral candidates in the field of occupational safety and health and has graduated ten (10) full research students.


She writes for both local and international audiences and gave talks on OSH related topics for the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH), Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers (FMM), Safe Work Australia and Penang Port. She has done numerous consultancy works for the private sectors and the most recent is on Return-to-Work Programme Implementation and Commuting Accidents Management Programme for SOCSO. In the past, she wrote teaching modules for KPM MARA, conducted a market feasibility study for the first Syariah Compliance Hospital in Penang, and trained Self-directed Work Teams (SWDT) for Motorola lean production.


Her expertise has also been consulted for the Penang Local Government projects specifically the Gender Responsive Budgeting (GRB) Programmes and the Childcare Policy toward community well-being and women active participation in the economy.
